Vista Haters - Are They Justified

vista-and-xp.jpg

I have to say that I am getting pretty sick of all the Vista Haters that I seem to find across the Internet.  I have to say that whilst I do get annoyed with Vista because of its small qwerks and its “Mommy can I do this please” user prompts its still not that a system, in fact I would go on record to say that after you have played with in and got used to where everything in and how it works then its better than Windows XP and all its flavours.

If you look at the leap forward that Vista actually in then you will start to appreciate just how much more an enjoyable computing experience you are given.  There is also the visual elements of Vista, it does look much prettier than XP and it does really make a difference.  There is the full support for Direct X 10 Graphics Cards so playing the latest games actually look miles better than playing the same game with the same hardware under XP.  Obviously you need to make sure that you have a graphics card that supports Direct X 10 so anything that used the Nvidia 8 Series is fine.  I also like the way that the system supports true “Plug N Play” meaning that when you attached a device to the computer via USB, if the driver you need is not already in the drivers database of Vista then the machine will automatically connect to Windows Update and download the correct driver for you based on the Vendor ID and Hardware ID of whatever you are trying to attached….Nice!

In closing, I want to point out something that may not be that obvious to many people, Microsoft have taken a good hard look at what Apple are doing with there Tiger and Leopard operating system and added some of the features into Vista.  Whilst Apple OS X is still a way better operating system that anything Microsoft have come up with, Vista is still a massive step in the right direction and as long as thinks keep improving via updates and service packs then Windows users are in for a treat.

Thanks for reading.
